TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Rust College women's basketball program faced Talladega College for the second consecutive ballgame and once again handled the Tornadoes like they were a light breeze, shutting down their offense in a 58-31 thrashing.

Rust Top Performers: 

 

  • Karyn Ford tied for the scoring lead in the defense-laden slugfest, ending up with 12 points which mostly came off free throws (6-of-8) and second chance opportunities (all six of her rebounds on offense).

 

  • Musharapha Alhassan was the only other Lady Bearcat to hit double-digits with an even ten as she cashed in on 5-for-7 (71.4%) in addition to six boards and a trio of blocks (contest-best).

 

  • Kennedi Green did everything but score often (2 points), double the number of assists that the home squad had in total (6 to 3), corralling six rebounds and swiping two steals.

 

  • Zoe Alexander embodied the lockdown defensive effort, picking five Dega pockets on top of a trio of dimes.
