Lady Bearcats Avenge Lone GCAC Loss On Senior Day

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College women's basketball program got payback on the Philander Smith Panthers after they handed the ladies their lone conference loss in January, serving up a 63-49 win.

Rust Top Performers:

• Diamond Sweats practically carried the Cats to victory, scoring more than the other four starters combined and accounted for 30.2% of the team's overall point total.

• The senior went off for a game-high 19 points and two blocks in addition to eight boards, two assists and two steals.

• Musharapha Alhassan was there to clean up any Lady Bearcats misses, aiding nine second chance opportunities while denying PSU four for a team-most 13 rebounds. She also posted eight points and a pair of steals and dimes each.

• Blesseth Dillingham did what she does best, leading either side in both assists (4) as well as steals (3).

• Ahmari Young and Niya McGuire combined for 15 points plus 11 boards from the bench and starting five, respectively.
