Coach Jackson Earns 200th Career Win As Ladies Roll

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College women's basketball program let Oakwood hang around in the first half as the Cats only led by eight at the break, but an overwhelming final 20 minutes eased any concerns as the Blue and White inch closer to a fourth straight regular season crown, 70-41.

Eric Jackson Jr. recorded his 200th overall victory as a Head Coach at the collegiate level with the win, claiming 59 at Concordia (Alabama) before taking over the reins here in northern Mississippi. He also tied the great A.J. Stovall at the top of the all-time Rust College women's basketball leaderboard for his 141st triumph with the Lady Bearcats, meaning a dub at the Virgin Islands on Thursday night would have him sitting alone in first.

Rust Top Performers: 

• Karyn Ford was as close to flawless with her shooting stroke as possible, dropping a team-high 15 points in 16 minutes off the bench on 7-for-8 (87.5%) as well as six boards, a steal plus an assist.

• Niya McGuire came a rebound shy of her second double-double of the campaign, leading all rebounders with nine in addition to 13 points and a pair of dimes while going 6-of-10 (60%) from the field.

• Blesseth Dillingham was the contest's frontrunner in both steals (6) and assists (5), combining for 11 of the two along with a trio of rebounds.

• Diamond Sweats had a well-rounded outing, putting together a nine-point, four-steal, three-assist, and three-rebound stat line.
