Lady Bearcats Upend Tougaloo On The Road In Conference Opener

JACKSON, Miss. – The Rust College volleyball program battled both a short-handed roster and the Lady Bulldogs on Thursday evening, coming away with a pivotal GCAC road victory while going the distance of five sets.

The Blue and White came back from a 2-1 set deficit and dominated the deciding set with a .462 hitting percentage, zero errors and a ten-point triumph, 15-5.

Both Michelene Coleman and Deja Campbell came away with double-doubles, combining for 22 kills and 24 digs on top of six service aces, five assists and four blocks (all via Coleman).

Despite their balanced overall success, neither Coleman or Campbell was the match's top defender as that honor was bestowed to Zanayah Myers at 16 digs in total.

Jelisa Alexander consistently found the floor on her serves, contributing a game-high five aces plus a game-best 28 assists (5.6 per set).
