Lady Bearcats Swept By Red-Hot Lady Bears

FAIRFIELD, Ala. – The Rust College volleyball program ran into one of the hottest teams in the NCAA Division II and could not cool them down, falling in straight sets.

Jasmine Coleman returned to the lineup with authority, notching another double-double with a team-high 12 kills and 10 digs, a block solo, and a hitting percentage of .308.

Jelisa Alexander continued her stellar campaign, averaging 7.3 assists per set (22) plus five digs.

Jabria Simmons led Rust in hitting percentage at .364 as she clubbed seven kills to only three errors over 11 swings.

Deja Campbell and Zanayah Myers both had solid defensive showings, combining for 15 digs on the evening.

Next up is another GCAC Round-Up on Sunday, October 9 on the campus of Oakwood University where it will face the conference's two newest members: Wiley (11 a.m.) and Oakwood (1 p.m.).
