Alexander Averages Over Eight Assists Per Set In GCAC Doubleheader

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College volleyball program ended its home schedule in the final GCAC Round-Up before the conference tournament, falling to Fisk and Philander Smith on Saturday inside Kinzell Lawson Gymnasium.

 

Jelisa Alexander was stellar for Coach Armstrong and the home squad, averaging 8.43 assists per set with 57 total as well as 17 digs for an average of 2.43.

 

Deja Campbell and Michelene Coleman switched roles with Campbell being the top offensive threat while Coleman was the best defender, leading Rust in kills (21) and digs (14), respectively.

 

The Lady Bearcats finish up with a pair of road matches in Memphis (LeMoyne-Owen) and Henderson (Freed-Hardeman), Tennessee before embarking on its quest for a GCAC Championship in New Orleans.
