NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Rust College volleyball program played an unorthodox back-to-back doubleheader at Southern University of New Orleans on Saturday, sweeping away the Knights both times to pick up a pair of GCAC wins.

Rust Top Performers:

 

  • Gabriella Gabirel fronted the offensive charge with a team-best 17 kills (2.83 p/s) which included the only double-figure effort of the day when she went for ten in the opener. For that day she hit an absurd .571 over 28 attacks while recording a single error.

 

  • Saraih Taylor (14) and Syriah Williams (15) split the setter duties during the nightcap to average 9.67 assists per set while Kennedi Coleman did it all herself in game one with 23 helpers for a 7.67 rate.

 

  • Paige Eason showed out on both ends of the ball, picking up 15 kills (2.50 p/s) and nine digs (1.50 p/s).

 

  • The Blue and White could have worked in a restaurant the way they were serving up aces, combining for 30 between the six sets (5.00 p/s) led by Williams' six in the latter match and Jamika Coleman's five in the former contest.
