MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Rust College cross country programs made the short trek north once again on Saturday, competing in the annual Rhodes Invitational at Shelby Farms.

 

The men recorded 341 points to finish ahead of both LeMoyne-Owen (345) and Mississippi University for Women (345) with a total time of 3:31.34, an average of 42:18. Topping the Bearcats was Javian Bogan (33:11.4) who was immediately followed by Orion Kimp (33:13.3) while the trio of Avery Robinson (45:04.3), Jayden Gaye (46:04.1), and Quincy Franks (54:01.5) finished things off in the 8K.

 

While the females did not register a score, two of their three runners set new personal-records as Lauren Warr was the first in a speed of 25:09.6 and the other being Jazmine Riley at 29:15.2. The final competitor in the 5K was Lyric Turner, who crossed the finish line in 33:12.3.

 

The Cats will remain in the Magnolia State for its next event which will be the Topper Trails Classic hosted by Blue Mountain Christian University on Saturday, September 30.
