Lady Bearcats Earn #9 Seed, Set To Face #8 Cumberlands In NAIA Tournament

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Rust College women’s basketball program is headed to Lakeland, Florida on the campus of Southeastern University to face the #8 seed Cumberlands Patriots at 12 p.m. CT on Friday, March 11.

This is the second NAIA Tournament appearance for Coach Eric Jackson Jr. and Rust College but its first time getting to play in a game as their last appearance was wiped out due to the newly widespread pandemic of COVID-19 which canceled the event at the end of the 2019-20 season.

The winner of the matchup between the Lady Bearcats and Patriots will play in the Naismith Quadrant Finals against either the #1 seed and host Southeastern Fire or former GCAC rival and #16 seed Xavier (La.) Gold Nuggets on Saturday, March 12 at 4 p.m. CT.
